Dental Crown Annapolis, MD

Do you have worn or damaged teeth? Receive dental crown treatment at Lighthouse Family Dentistry in Annapolis, MD. The dental crown is a restorative dental treatment that covers and protects damaged or discolored teeth. Endodontists commonly use dental crowns to protect a tooth after a root canal treatment. However, they can also lengthen shortened teeth or add structure to worn-down, decayed, or fractured teeth.

Tooth crowns are a porcelain material that reflects light, just like natural teeth. Because of this, dental crowns blend in with the look of the smile. They also match the color of your natural tooth enamel. As a result, they are nearly almost identical to the naked eye. Patients who receive other dental restorations benefit from dental crowns. They can cap off dental implants, bridges, and dentures.

Dental Crown Treatment in Annapolis, MD

In order to prepare the teeth receiving dental crowns, Dr. Meiser uses a dental tool to gently remove part of the enamel. Preparing the teeth in this way does not damage them. It actually makes sure that the tooth crowns fit properly on top of the patient’s natural teeth. Then, Dr. Meiser takes digital impressions of the teeth. We will use these impressions to craft customized tooth crowns.

Dr. Meiser can provide patients with same-day dental crowns using CEREC and CAD/CAM technology. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic. CAD/CAM means computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. Dr. Meiser can create dental crowns in-office, making the process more efficient and faster.

Once the tooth crowns are complete, Dr. Meiser will carefully place them on the prepared tooth enamel or implant abutment.  Attaching crowns to a dental implant provides added support and structure, helping to prevent jaw bone loss. Before you leave our office, he will also ensure that the crowns fit comfortably in the mouth and meet the patient’s needs.
