Dr. Meiser will conduct a thorough examination before ClearCorrect treatment to ensure that patients are good candidates for treatment. ClearCorrect is best for teens and adults who have mild to moderate orthodontic problems. Patients with more severely crooked or misaligned teeth benefit from metal braces or even oral surgery.
Once Dr. Meiser determines that a patient is a candidate for ClearCorrect, he takes x-rays and digital images of the teeth and gums. These images are used to map out the formation of the aligners. Each set of invisible aligners is slightly different, as they gradually shift teeth into a straighter position.
Dr. Meiser will provide patients with their first sets of aligners once they are complete. For the best results, the aligners should be worn for about 22 hours a day. Each pair of aligners are worn for two weeks. Patients will visit with Dr. Meiser every six to eight weeks so he can check their progress.
When patients complete their ClearCorrect treatment, Dr. Meiser will provide them with custom retainers. Worn at night, these retainers help keep the teeth in alignment.
